Sherry holds an LL.M. from Stanford University and an LL.M. and an LL.B. from National Taiwan University. While at Stanford, she focused on Environmental Law and Policy. During her graduate studies at NTU, she focused on Public Law (Administrative Law). Sherry also counts working for Kaohsiung City Hall among her professional experience. Her current specialties are environmental law and administrative law.
Litigation Experience
• In recent years, Sherry has handled high-profile environmental disputes. She represents clients in complex environmental litigation cases involving Taiwan's Waste Disposal Act and Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Act. She assists corporations in handling disputes over by-products and solid waste. Her clients include generators, transporters, waste handlers, renewable energy producers, and owners and operators of recycling facilities. Her enviable familiarity with the industrial solid waste chain makes her a highly sought-after expert in this field.
• Sherry represents clients in various disputes with government authorities for issues including regulatory compliance, remediation, permitting, and bills lobbying.
• Sherry also boosts abundant experience in civil litigation. Her landmark cases include the first case where an e-commerce platform owner was held liable for trademark infringement, a cross-border payment recovery case, and construction payment disputes.
Non-litigation Experience
• Sherry frequently conducts ESG due diligence checks for a diverse range of multinational clients, including semiconductor fabs, semiconductor packaging and testing plants, PCB plants, companies in the aerospace industry and the petrochemical industry, international fast-food packing houses, chemical companies, and medical device manufacturers, to help identify and mitigate risks to the clients' operations and investments.
• Sherry is also conversant with environmental laws, fire control laws, and construction management laws, and is regularly invited to speak to corporate groups.
• Owing to her experience in ESG Due Diligence, Sherry was deeply involved in the development of Lee and Li’s proprietary ESGoal legal compliance system (ESGoal). ESGoal is the first-ever technological solution for corporate compliance whose creation was guided by lawyers.
